The calculator displays the solution to the equation on the second line

Only the calculators specified in the following sentences will be permitted in the examination room. There is a strict no-carry policy in effect for the exam room, so leave your books, papers, and electronics at home. Only the Texas Instruments TI-30Xa or TI-30X II* (IIS solar or IIB battery), TI-30X MultiView, or a battery- or solar-powered Texas Instruments BA-35 type calculator may be used by candidates throughout the examination (XS Solar or XB Battery). Examinees may bring as many approved calculators as they desire into the testing room with them. If you bring a calculator that isn't on this list, you will not be allowed to use it during the exam. You may use the same calculator models on both the standalone SOA tests and the combined SOA/CAS tests. For the Enrolled Actuaries (EA) exams, candidates may utilize any model that meets the standards set by the Joint Board for the Enrollment of Actuaries. The Joint Board Examination Program outlines all the prerequisites that must be met. Every single authorized SOA model is fully compliant with everything the Joint Board has to offer. Please do not bring any calculator manuals or software into the testing room. During the exam, you'll need to whip out your calculator from its case so the proctor can make sure it's a certified version. Examinees who use any calculator other one of the approved models will not be scored. Candidates are responsible for bringing their own calculators to the exam. They are sold by the aforementioned book wholesalers, as well as by Texas Instruments, who can be contacted through Epsstore.ti.com. * In order to enter the test room, candidates must wait until the exam supervisor has cleared the memory of the TI-30X II (IIS solar or IIB battery), TI-30X MultiView (XS solar or XB battery), BA II Plus, and BA II Plus Professional. When you reset the BA II Plus or BA II Plus Professional, the calculator is restored to its original, untouched state.
The calculator displays the solution to the equation on the second line, and you can use the four directional arrows on the front to change the equation and recalculate it. Also, by repeatedly pressing the up arrow, you can look through a history of your previous computations to find the answer to a problem. In bright sunlight, the device draws power from the sun; in dim light, the batteries kick in (included). There are notational modes for physics, chemistry, and engineering; angular notational modes (degrees, radians, and grades); and statistical notational modes (one and two independent variables). In addition, five variables can each be assigned their own separate memory region. The calculator comes with a protective case that snaps onto the back. Distinguishing Features:
Look at an x, y table of values for a given function either automatically or by entering a set of x values. Users can enter and read calculations with standard math notation, such as stacked fractions, exponents, accurate square roots, and more, in the arithmetic Print mode. The Nspire CX II from Texas Instruments is a programmable CAS. Thanks to ingenious layout choices, several Calculations can be entered, compared, and trends investigated all without leaving the same screen. To swiftly switch between fractional and decimal representations, use the toggle key.
Unfortunately, the TI-30XS has a tendency to make mistakes while doing operations in reverse order. As a science professor, I do not recommend this calculator for any subject that requires working with extremely large or extremely small numbers. I have used every other calculator that can properly handle scientific notation for the past 15 years. Don't take this one, but feel free to pick from the others.
